Our Community
Gilda’s Club is a free supportive community of children, women and men learning to live with cancer. When Gilda’s Club Greater Atlanta opens, you’ll find that:
- When cancer happens, it happens to the whole family and its social network; therefore membership includes all of the people who are affected by cancer, fully and equally.
- Gilda’s Club is for all people learning to live with cancer, whatever the outcome.
- People living with cancer and its effects are the true cancer “experts.” You know what you are feeling and you know what you need. Gilda’s Club is a place to share your expertise and experiences, and to learn from others.
- Emotional and social support is a necessary complement to medical treatment for those living with cancer and its effects.
Each member creates a customized plan for emotional and social support that is based on participation in program activities. Common to all customized plans is learning through the shared experiences of other members.
